Develop your skills or try out a new hobby
Ruskin College offers a range of short courses which are free of charge for those eligible under the Pound Plus and Fee Remittance Policy. For those not eligible there is a course fee of £25.
The courses are held in person, with dedicated tutors for each course and take place at Ruskin College and local community venues.
Courses run for several weeks and are available to join after the start date if places are still available.

Exploring creative photography
This course focuses on introducing individuals to the world of creative photography.
Digital photography - stage 3 advanced (DSLR, mirrorless and compact cameras)
Follow on from the Intermediate course with a focus on enhancing and expanding introduced skills from the previous courses (stages 1 and 2).
Digital photography - stage 1 beginners (DSLR, mirrorless and compact cameras)
This course is designed for beginners who have their own DSLR, Mirrorless or Compact camera, who want to develop their photography skills.
Hair and beauty - hair styling and head massage techniques
You will learn how to look after your family’s hair by using some simple styling techniques.
Hair and beauty intermediate - party hair styling to improve your confidence
You will learn how to create party hairstyles for different occasions using accessories and hair extensions.
Photography on your phone – intermediate
This practical course is designed as a follow on/progression course to the ‘photography on your phone - beginners’ course.
