We had the best possible result in the Institutional Review today - the full five years' continuing approval and no conditions. There were three recommendations: two to do with strengthening the way Academic Quality and Standards Committee works and one about our working relationship with the Open University Validations Service. All are easy to respond to, and one or two are really helpful. The Panel also commended us on a whole list of things: student support, progression routes, students' engagement with the wider academic community (esp. Oxford), the enthusiasm and helpfulness of the library and the support provided to students to use the Oxford libraries, staff development, the estate strategy, transparent and effective leadership, and the improvement in staff morale since the last Review three years ago. Sincere thanks to everyone who participated or supported behind the scenes. It was a marvellous team effort and a well-deserved result.
