The programme - to be called: ’Greg Dyke on Nye Bevan’ - will be screened on BBC 4 in September or October and repeated on BBC2 at a later date. In it, Dr Martin will talk about the Vermin Club, formed by middle class Tory voters to heckle Bevan following a remark he made in a 1948 speech about the Tories being lower than vermin. Dr Martin published an article on the subject 11 years ago, and apparently no-one else has written about it since.
