5 Aug, 10

This year Rob was one of only 15 people nationally to win a prestigious Sinnott Fellowship, set up in memory of former NUT General Secretary Steve Sinnott. He won the award for his track record in promoting awareness of global educational issues and promoting out of school connections that transform pupils’ lives. His work has included setting up a Teen Press journalism project, a History Club and enabling pupils to represent the UK at the 48th National Assembly of the European Youth Parliament in Norway.

With the Fellowship award he is now able to develop an international project on the impact of the Second World War including schools in Russia, Germany, Portugal and France. As Rob has said, ‘By creating more national and international academic, sporting, social and cultural opportunities’, he can broaden children’s ‘horizons and raise more awareness of what they can achieve’.

Congratulations Rob on a well deserved award!
