Women's Studies and Social Sciences tutor Louise Livesey was the opening speaker at a Women's Movement Film night organised by the Working Class Movement Library and the Manchester Film Co-operative. Around 80 people gathered to watch films on the 1970 Ruskin Women's Liberation Conference; women's activism in the 1980s Miners Strikes and the origins of International Women's Day. Lively discussion led by members of the Manchester Feminist Network followed the films. For more information see the Manchester Film Co-operative website (http://www.manchesterfilm.coop/)
