On October 3rd at Northern College Ian Manborde (Programme Co-ordinator of Ruskin College's MA, International Labour & Trade Union Studies) will contribute to the annual conference of the UK Society for Co-operative Studies. This is the second occasion on which he has been invited to speak to conference delegates. Ian’s conference paper falls under the strand ‘The Role of Workers in the Theory of the Firm’ and he will provide an interpretation of recent developments which have provided positive examples of trade union-led initiatives involving forms of employee ownership and employee-share ownership, as a feature of pay bargaining systems, both within the UK and globally.
