A former student at Ruskin (1993-94), Bill graduated with a BA (Hons) in Organisational Studies and Sociology at Lancaster University in 1997, returning to Ruskin in 1997 to design, develop and deliver a CertHE in Computing.
Prior to Ruskin, Bill was involved in a number of community Computing projects in the North West of England, encouraging wider participation. During his time at Ruskin, Bill has worked on projects with PAREX - University for Industry (designing, implementing and developing a regional database), and Oxford Virtual Campus (designing, programming, and developing on-line learning material for adults in the workplace).
Bill has had responsibility as co-ordinator and tutor for the part time CertHE in Employment Studies, offered in partnership with the General Federation of Trade Unions, and Prospect. At present, Bill delivers the DipHE ICT and Social Change module, and contributes to the Research Methods module, with focus on computing as a research tool, with Tom Woolley.
In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Bill is Systems Manager for Ruskin, with responsibility for the staff and students network, since 2004, and is also centre manager for ECDL.
