Alan Irwin has worked for 40 years in the field of Industrial Relations, 18 years as a leading trade union negotiator in the steel industry and the last 22 years working in various academic and trade union organisations managing, curriculum development and teaching trade union education. During that time he has worked extensively with employers and unions in the public and private sector to develop education and training to manage change and transition. He has worked extensively with trade unions in the UK and in Europe on renewal programmes to assist unions to adapt to the global demands that affect membership and sustainable employment.
