Open Days

If you are interested in applying for a long course (not an MA course or the Social Work course) at Ruskin College we would recommend you attend one of our HEAD Days (Higher Education Access Days).

During a HEAD Day you will follow a programme of events that will allow you to find out about the College, talk to the tutors who teach on the course you are interested in, speak to current students to find out “what it is really like to be a Ruskin student!” and look round our Walton Street site.

Attending a HEAD Day will enable you to make a fully informed decision on whether you would like to apply for a place at Ruskin College.

During 2009 – 2010 we will be holding HEAD Days on: 

Our HEAD Days (Higher Education Access Days) provide prospective students with the opportunity to find out information in more detail, on most of the courses offered in this booklet. Tutors from all undergraduate courses except Social Work attend the HEAD Days. At a HEAD Day you will be able to talk to a Tutor who teaches on the course you are interested in, speak to our Student Ambassadors to find out ‘what it is really like to be a Ruskin student’ and look around the site the HEAD day is held at. If you are thinking about applying for a higher education course at Ruskin, we strongly recommend that you attend a HEAD Day (though this is not a requirement). For courses starting in September 2010 we will be running the following HEAD Days at our Walton Street site:

5th February 2010 11am – 3pm

9th March 2010 6 – 8pm

24th April 11am – 3pm

21st May 2010 11am – 3pm

1st July 2010 11am – 3pm

7th August 2010 11am – 1pm

Please note:
Youth and Community and Social Work Tutors will not be attending the HEAD Days.

If you would like to attend a HEAD Day you should book a place. You can do this by completing the enclosed booking form. Alternatively, you can ring Hannah on 01865 517832 or send her an email at hjones@ruksin.ac.uk If you are near Walton Street or Ruskin Hall you can call in a make a booking in person at Reception. It is up to you!

In addition to the above HEAD Days, Ruskin will also be running two Open Days for students interested in applying to the MA in International Labour and Trade Union Studies course.
