Health & Human Sciences – Pre-Access Level 2

You will develop the knowledge and skills required to progress to a higher level vocational qualification, specifically a Level 3 Access to HE Diploma in Health and Human Sciences or related areas. You will refresh and enhance your English and Maths skills, and learn how to study effectively in higher level courses.

If your goal is to study in higher education, perhaps via a Level 3 Access to Education course, in preparation for a career in the health and human sciences sector or a related area, then this is the ideal course for you.

You don’t need prior qualifications for this course, although you will benefit from having English and Maths at Level 1 or above.

• A number of further options relevant to your chosen area, including Understanding Health Promotion and Health Education, The Sociology of Health, Understanding Mental Health, Human Biology, Eating Disorders, and Equality and Diversity in the Health Sector

Guided learning hours are the hours you spend learning with your training provider or on your own. The guided learning hours for this qualification are:

• Level 2: 144 hours

Completing the Pre-Access to Health and Human Sciences Level 2 Certificate usually takes:

• 20 weeks part time

The aim of the pre-access course is to prepare you for study in higher education in preparation for a career in the health and human sciences sector or a related area. Although the qualification has not been designed to lead directly to employment, it will support you to take the first step towards a career in a range of professions in health and human science and related areas.
