We offer a wide variety of short courses at our main campus and at local community and neighbourhood centres.
Short courses may be free of charge if you are eligible under the Pound Plus and Fee Remittance Policy. For those not eligible there is a course fee of £25.
Subjects range from gardening to bike maintenance and courses in English and mathematics.
You can join courses after the start date if places are still available.

Creative banners for Artweeks Exhibition at Ruskin
Come and join in creating banners for the Oxfordshire Artweeks Exhibition at Ruskin College.
Mindfulness - coping with stress
The course will help you to explore the nature of stress and identify how best to respond to reduce negative emotions.
ESOL for education - essential English skills (stage 3)
The Stage 3 English course is designed to further develop the English language proficiency of non-native speakers.
Exploring creative photography
This course focuses on introducing individuals to the world of creative photography.
Digital photography - stage 3 advanced (DSLR, mirrorless and compact cameras)
Follow on from the Intermediate course with a focus on enhancing and expanding introduced skills from the previous courses (stages 1 and 2).
Digital photography - stage 1 beginners (DSLR, mirrorless and compact cameras)
This course is designed for beginners who have their own DSLR, Mirrorless or Compact camera, who want to develop their photography skills.
Hair and beauty - hair styling and head massage techniques
You will learn how to look after your family’s hair by using some simple styling techniques.
Hair and beauty intermediate - party hair styling to improve your confidence
You will learn how to create party hairstyles for different occasions using accessories and hair extensions.
Photography on your phone – intermediate
This practical course is designed as a follow on/progression course to the ‘photography on your phone - beginners’ course.
Seasonal cooking - summer produce
Learn to cook using seasonal veg and how to make the best dishes on a budget.
Tell your story - fiction and non-fiction writing
Everyone has a story to tell. This 5 week course will give you the skills and confidence to develop your own individual writing projects.
Photography on your phone – beginners
What makes a great photo? This practical course focuses on the premise of you, the photographer making great photos, rather than the camera.
