What are the qualifications about?
Improving your English will help you get more out of your life. This course builds your confidence using English in your community and in daily life. You can improve your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. Each 10 week course will cover a different skill.

If English is your second language and you want to improve your confidence and develop your language skills, this course is right for you. You can improve your job prospects or progress to further studies at a higher level.

What do I need?
To study at Entry 2 You should already have Entry Level 1 in English.
To study at Entry 3 You should already have Entry Level 2 in English.
To study at Level 1 You should already have Entry Level 3 in English.

You will be assessed on your key language skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening, through aural, oral and written assessment.

How long do they take?
Guided learning hours
Guided learning hours are the hours you spend learning with your training provider or on your own. The guided learning hours for this qualification are:
- 270 per level (to include speaking & listening, reading, writing)

The course will help improve your English skills and your employment prospects. You can also progress to the next level of study in ESOL.

What would it cost me?
The courses may be FREE if you are claiming benefits or on low income. The cost of a 40 hour course is £180. There may be additional fees for books and exams.
