What are the qualifications about?
Develop your techniques with step-by-step instructions and demonstrations, whilst enriching your knowledge of colour theory.
Who are they for?
If you are interested in expanding on your knowledge and skills surrounding art then this course is something you will enjoy, whatever your ability.
What do I need?
You don’t need any qualifications for this course and all painting and drawing abilities are welcome.

What sorts of things do they cover?
These classes will cover:
- Colour theory
- Experimentation with different techniques
- Reserving the whites
- Brush control
- Creating form
How will I learn and be assessed?
The course is for your enjoyment. You will not be officially assessed.
What will I need to bring?
1 Good medium Round ended brush, size 6-7
1 Good large round brush
Preferably tubes, ideal colours are listed, but set colours in a box are fine.
Lemon yellow or Winsor Lemon
Cadmium yellow pale
Yellow Ochre or Raw Sienna
Watercolour pad, Weight 140lb/300gsm, “Not “ (also known as Cold pressed)
Other basic materials
Eraser, a soft putty rubber is ideal
Board or anything that tape will stick to.
Couple of water pots
Please note: Materials are not included; Students will be required to provide their own materials.

Guided learning hours are the hours you spend learning with your training provider or on your own. The guided learning hours for this qualification are:

- 13 weeks part time, 1 day a week, Saturday

Cost: £336. You can use the skills learned on the course to carry on creating masterpieces in your spare time.
