Become an Apprentice
At Ruskin you can choose from a range of high quality, flexible apprenticeship training programmes, which will develop your specific job skills and enhance your career prospects.
We have good relationships with local employers and can help you get on the path to a rewarding apprenticeship, offering you the opportunity to learn while you earn and gain crucial qualifications.
How does it work?
An apprenticeship enables you to train towards a nationally-recognised apprenticeship standard qualification while you work.
You would undertake 20% Off the Job (OTJ) training during the duration of the programme. This usually includes:
- technical training (theory and underpinning knowledge)
- practical/project-based work
- distance learning (e-learning, moodle etc)
- mentoring and coaching
- assignment/assessment work
- assessment testing
What if I don’t have a job?
We will look at your skills, experience and previous education and will aim to connect you with a suitable employer connected to our training programmes. Alternatively, we will suggest a learning pathway for you that will enhance your technical skills and improve your prospects with a range of employers.
