5 top tips to best prepare for Clearing

5 top tips to best prepare for Clearing

Think of Clearing as an opportunity for you to apply directly to your University or College of choice whilst receiving guidance and support throughout the process.

To help you best prepare for Clearing 2017 we share 5 tips:

1. There’s no rush – take your time

You don’t have to make the big decision too quickly. UCAS Clearing opens in the afternoon of A-level results day. This gives you time to think about your future and what you want to do before starting the process. It’s not too early to get ready for clearing, and the support is already out there to help you with the process – find out more about the Clearing support we offer.

 2. Don’t be shy – it’s good to talk

We are here to help. Calling universities and colleges you’re interested in to discuss the course you would like to study is really valuable. It’ll give you a feel for the place, the course, staff and support available to you.

We have vacancies on the following courses for entry this September:

Applied Social Sciences BA (Hons)
Community Development and Youth Work BA (Hons)
Global Labour and Social Change MA
Health and Social Care Foundation Degree
Law Certificate of  Higher Education
Social Work BA (Hons)

Our Clearing hotline will be open on Thursday 17, Friday 18 and Saturday 19 August. It will also be open from Monday 21 August to Friday 8 September (weekdays only) – visit our website for more information. If you have questions today or want to apply directly with us now you can – just call our Admissions Office on 01865 759600 or apply via our website now.

3. Come say hi – visit our Campus

As part of our clearing support we are hosting a Ruskin College Open Day on Saturday 19th August from 11am to 2pm. Open Days are a great opportunity for you to come and find out about life at Ruskin College: our approach to teaching, the courses on offer, the benefits of our small class sizes, and how we can help you take the next step on your learning journey.

We also host weekly Friday visits giving you the chance to discover the campus, meet the staff and find out more about studying at Ruskin College. Visit our website for more information and to book your place to our Open Day or a Friday visit.

4. Need some advice?

If you need any help at all before, during or after the Clearing process call us on +44 (01865) 759600. The team at the end of the phone will be able to guide and support you - all questions are important, no question is too small!

5. Tell your friends!

This is the best bit – when you have accepted a place on the course of your choice: spread the news!
