Award in Bookkeeping Skills Level 1
We have three courses running:
Autumn term: 11 September 2017 - 6 November 2017
Spring term: 15 January 2018 - 12 March 2018
Summer term: 9 April 2018 - 11 June 2018
Duration: Part-time held on Mondays from 6pm - 9pm
If you are new to bookkeeping this course will provide you with an entry-level qualification. If you already have some practical knowledge and skills at this level, you will gain an accredited qualification in the subject.
If you own a small business, you may also find this qualification useful as it covers single entry book manual keeping system, suitable for the production of small business accounts, and acts as some of the underpinning knowledge required for the processing of financial transactions using a computerised accounting system.
Modules for this course include:
- Preparing and processing bookkeeping documents
- Recording credit transactions
- Making and receiving payments
- Recording receipts and payments
- Maintaining petty cash records

There are no academic entry requirements for Level 1. However, for the best chance of success, we recommend that students begin their courses with a good standard of English and math.
Potential progression to Level 2 and 3 Bookkeeping and Accounting, with a career route to being a qualified Bookkeeper.
