Diploma in Skills for the Creative Industries: Performing Arts Level 1
Duration: Part-time, held on Mondays from 9am-6pm
at Ruskin Hall Campus, Old Headington, Oxford, OX3 9BZ
The qualification introduces the development of the skills needed in the Creative Arts sector. It addresses not only the creative perspective but the technical and business approaches required to succeed.
The specific aims of this course are to develop confidence in your creative abilities and technical skills and knowledge by using a variety of techniques. You will also develop an understanding and awareness of the contribution of the arts to culture and society; making connections between your own work and that of others.

Introduction to the performing arts
Working in the performance arts
Directing and devising drama
Performing physical theatre
Promoting a performing arts event
Music for performance

This course has no specific academic entry requirements. However, you should be able to demonstrate you have the potential and opportunity to gain the qualification.
