The course will take you on a journey through genres and in doing so increase your ability to be in the moment, via practicing mindfulness mediation. The benefits of mindfulness range from reducing anxiety and stress, increasing mood and memory, increasing attention span and improving sleep. The course will enable students to gain an understanding of mindfulness techniques, using all of the senses, along with a basic grasp of what goes into making and producing music.
"Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. - Berthold Auerbach (Poet)
"I thought ... meditation involved ... moving to some country and renouncing wealth and materialism ... [but] it's a simple practice that calms the mind ... and the thing that won me over ... was its effectiveness. Nothing else helped me quiet my mind and go to a calm, centered place. The thing that makes it effective is you don't have to do all that much, and, as a profoundly lazy person, I appreciate that. " Moby (Musician)
This is a residential course, you may be eligible for two nights' accommodation and food. We will help you access financial support if you are entitled to it. For more information visit our Further Education fees and funding page.
