The WLM event at Ruskin College on 22nd February 2020 was a great success. 50 years of the Women’s Liberation Movement was commemorated by lively discussions between our panel of feminist luminaries and a passionate and inspired audience.
Reeta Chakrabarti deftly chaired the debates surrounding the
topics of “50 years on – how far have we come?” and “What does the current
political climate mean for women?”.
Panellists Roberta Hunter-Henderson, Kellie O’Dowd, Nicola
Kemp, Wanda Wyporska, Hilary Wainwright and Melissa Benn were insightful ,
stimulating and thought provoking.
Before the debate, we screened the original 1970 conference film, produced by the sadly missed Sue Crockford.
