From Access to Nursing to Nursing Associate

Intro

FE staff enjoyed a lovely surprise visit from one of their former students last week. Jannet, a 2019 Access to Nursing graduate, enjoyed a full circle moment, stopping by the College ahead of a shift in her new role as a Nursing Associate at the John Radcliffe hospital.

Main body

Jannet, who joined Ruskin in 2018, was part of a hugely successful cohort that went on to study at top Universities and apprenticeships. Jannet chose the apprenticeship route and credits the College’s fantastic programme and supportive staff in giving her the preparation she needed to tackle the apprenticeship programme and its challenges head on. Jannet’s hard work and commitment to achieving her dream paid off this July, when despite contracting Covid in January, she successfully completed the programme. This achievement was awarded with Jannet earning her official Nursing and Midwifery Council PIN in August, as well as a role as a Nursing Associate at Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital. Jannet is looking forward to consolidating her skills and experience in her new role and continuing to contribute to the care of individuals in the future.

This is just the beginning of what we are sure will be a hugely successful career as a nurse for Jannet. We are so proud of her achievements and wish her all the best in her new role as a Nursing Associate at the John Radcliffe hospital.
