About the event

Short courses may be free of charge if you are eligible under the Pound Plus and Fee Remittance Policy. For those not eligible there is a course fee of £25.

This course is designed as a follow on course to the ‘digital photography stage 2 intermediate (DSLR/Mirrorless/Compact Cameras)’ course, with a focus on enhancing and expanding introduced skills from the previous courses (stages 1 and 2).

Aimed at individuals who have a broad overview and understanding of digital camera exposure modes (such as ‘Shutter Priority’ mode, ‘Aperture Priority’ mode, and ‘Manual Exposure’ mode). The course focuses on enhancing visual and technical skills, including utilising RAW files, metering modes, and exploring characteristics of light.

Participants will need to bring their own DSLR, Mirrorless or Compact camera.

Topics include:

  • Technical skills (such as digital camera exposure modes)
  • Visual skills (such as exploring visual elements)
  • Creative approaches to photographing
  • Creative skills

By the end of the course, participants will have experienced a range of opportunities to extend their visual and technical skills in a fun, relaxed and supportive learning environment.

You must be 19 years or older to be able to attend this course.

An attendance certificate will be handed out to students who complete the course.
